Arrival in Tbilisi. You will meet with the guide and the driver at the International airport, where you will transfer to the hotel and check in.. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2: Tbilisi City Tour
Get a feel for the city with a vibrant walking tour

The day will start with breakfast at the hotel, and afterwards you will have a walking tour in old district of the city. Founded by Vakhtang Gorgasali - the Georgian King of Kartli (Iberia) - and made into a capital in the 6th century, Tbilisi is a significant industrial, social, and cultural center.

Your walking tour includes visits to the following sightseeing spots:

  • Metekhi Church, which was erected on the cliff, and is overlooking the Mtkvari River
  • The famous Sulfur Baths, also located in Old Tbilisi, on the other side of the river.
  • In the same district, we ascend by cableway on the Narikala Fortress. Called the ‘mother fortress of Tbilisi’, Narikala is an ancient symbol of city’s defence system. It was established in the 4th century, around the period when the city itself was founded.
  • Visit Meidani Square and walk on Shardeni street, with its fashionable, cozy cafes and art galleries, passing alongside the Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica.
  • The tour also takes you to Rustaveli Avenue, where attractions such as the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet theatre, Rustaveli Theatre, different art galleries and cafes will draw your attention and provide a cosmopolitan atmosphere. In the evening, we will transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 3: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Kutaisi
Two brilliant churches showcase the majesty of Georgia

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards we will drive to Mtskheta, a UNESCO world heritage site and the former capital of Georgia. The excursion includes a visit to “Jvari Church” or Holy Cross Church. Built in the 6th century, it is located on a hill overlooking the conflux of the two rivers. According to history, the church is also a notable monument of the country.

Next site is the “Svetitskhoveli Cathedral”. The name translates as “a life-giving pillar”. The Cathedral was built in 11th century and became a cradle of Christianity in Georgia. The holy robe of Jesus Christ, which was buried here, makes the Cathedral the most important place of the country. Finally drive to Kutaisi. Overnight in Kutaisi.

Day 4: Kutaisi – Enguri Dam – Mestia
Enthralling views on the drive to Svaneti

After breakfast you will have the most exciting part of the trip - a journey to Svaneti, the region of the highest mountains and glaciers and the most abiding ancient traditions. Take some snacks with you to eat on the long road, as we will not stop for lunch before our arrival in Mestia. En route, we will visit Enguri Dam which has a height of 890 feet (the highest dam of this type in the world). The Dam makes a water-storage reservoir in the picturesque gorges of Samegrelo and Svaneti mountains. Dinner and overnight in Mestia.

Day 5: Mestia – Ushguli – Mestia
Varied visits on the fifth day of the trip

After breakfast, we will drive to Ushguli (a UNESCO Heritage) using off-road vehicles. Visits in this area include:

  • The Laghami Saint George's Church (7th-12th c.c.)
  • The church of St. George in Nakipari (1130 AD)
  • The Ethnographic Museum in Ushguli.

Ushguli is considered to be the highest populated place in Europe (and is 7200 feet above sea level). In the afternoon we will drive back to Mestia. Dinner and overnight in Mestia.

Day 6: Mestia- Kutaisi Tour

After breakfast, we will drive to the west part of Georgia. First we will visit Kutaisi and have the city tour. We will visit both the Bagrati Temple and the Gelati Monastery (12th c. UNESCO heritage). Kutaisi was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Colchis. Archeological evidence indicates that the city functioned as the capital of the kingdom of Colchis as early as the second millennium BC. From the end of 2012, Kutaisi became the Parliament City of Georgia. The new building of Parliament is designed by Spanish architecture Alberto Domingo Kabo. After our visits, we will transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Kutaisi.
